BELGIUM, 2 December 2021 – Veeam, the leader in backup solutions for Cloud Data Management, has appointed ePact as the first Belgian VASP partner for the Belux. VASP stands for ‘Veeam Accredited Services Partner’ and is a distinction that is only awarded to a partner that has the most extensive expertise and knowledge of Veeam solutions. A VASP operates as an extension of the Veeam service at customer sites. ePact is the hybrid cloud arm of the Uptime Group, the infrastructure cluster within the Cronos Group.
Veeam Software works daily with an extensive ecosystem of partners who receive support in a variety of ways to help customers. One of those support options is engaging a VASP. This is a company that has extensive knowledge and experience with Veeam products, so as an extension of Veeam it can provide other partners with the best advicein the design, implementationand/or managementof Veeam solutions.
In the EMEA region, Veeam has several dozen partners with VASP status, andin the Belux, ePact can now call itself the first Belgian VASP. Over the past few years, ePact has invested heavily in training their people to work with Veeam’s solutions. Today, the company has thelargest number of Veeam-certified experts in Belgium, making them the ideal partner to support other IT suppliers in propagating the Veeam services,” said Frank Dezaeger, Channel Manager at Veeam.
Digital transformation of businesses everywhere is in full swing, but the Veeam 2020 Data Protection Trends report shows that many EMEA organizations are struggling to make progress. The cause is often alack of IT skills and limitations resulting from outdated technology systems. Although Veeam was designed to allow easy installation, corporate IT environments have become so complex that they are increasingly looking for strategic partners to support their implementation processes and adaptsmoothly to changing business needs.
Especially now that the successof a business increasingly depends on its digital infrastructure, a VASP can make a big difference. For example, a VASP is called in by an IT partner when theimplementation of a Veeam solution threatens to fail or when a customer is not sufficiently exploiting the potential of a product. For example, Veeam offers many more features than backup and recovery, but customers need a partner to introduce them to all of them.
For other IT service providers, a VASP is by no means a competitor, but rather a sparring partner that offers additional expertise to serve and keep the end customer satisfied. “We notice that behind the scenes there is a lot of cooperation between IT service providers to guarantee customers the best service. As an IT partner, you cannot excel in everything. So there is no question of competition, provided the rules of the game are clear. We are convinced that ePact has the right capabilities to provide this specialized support in a professional way,” says Frank Dezaeger.
To achieve the status of VASP, a partner must go through a strict selection process. For example, theplan of approach is examined, but also referencesand certifications. In the Belux, ePact is the first Belgian company to achieve the status. The organization is part of the Uptime Group, the infrastructure cluster within the Cronos Group, and is able to supportdigital transformation in companies with end-to-end solutions. In doing so, it does not matter what stage of the IT lifecycle a customer is in.
“The VASP status is a recognition for ePact as an experienced knowledge partner of Veeam that can bring complex projects to a successful conclusion. We have a large number of certified people and look forward to strengthening other IT service providers with our expertise through this partnership. Of course, we are neutral and only focus on providing technological support, with our partners taking care of the commercial part and guaranteeing satisfied customers,” says Christof Ugau, Managing Partner at ePact.
Veeam regularly organizes information sessions on the VASP program where IT service providers discover how they themselves can benefit from the expertise of a VASP. In January 2022, these partners will be able to meet ePact as the new VASP for the Belux during an event.
